Admission to upper secondary
General information

The European School Copenhagen opened the upper secondary educational cycle (equivalent to Danish gymnasium) in August 2020.

Applicants have the option of applying for Secondary 5 (equivalent to 1.g.) with either Danish or English as the primary language of instruction.

As a European School, we offer a comprehensive multilingual curriculum with a combination of language, humanities and science subjects. Many of these subjects are taught in more than one language and as a result, you achieve a high academic level in several languages.

Besides high academic standards, we also offer an exciting international learning environment with students from many different countries and great new facilities, centrally located in Carlsberg Byen in Copenhagen.

Students who successfully complete Secondary 5 to Secondary 7 are awarded the European Baccalaureate (EB) diploma, which is an officially recognised entry qualification for higher education in all the EU countries and many other countries.
