The Secondary education cycle consists of grades S1-S7 when the pupils are between 11-19 years old. The European School Copenhagen follows the curriculum set by the European Schools and the secondary cycle is completed with the European Baccalaureate certificate. You can read more about Secondary here.
Our Secondary department opened in August 2018 and currently has a total of 13 classes in S1, S2, S3, S4 and S5 across three different language sections, English, Danish and Danish/French. The classes are currently full, but we accept applications for ‘rolling admission’ in case spaces become available during the school year.
In August 2021, we will open a new Secondary 1 class in the French language section. The students in this class have either French or Danish as L1 (mother tongue). Applications open on 24th November 2020 and close on 1st March 2021.
We will also be opening two new S5 classes in the English and Danish language section. S5 corresponds to 1.g (the first year of Danish Gymnasium). See more information under admission to upper secondary.
