The Secondary education cycle consists of grades S1-S7 when the pupils are between 11-19 years old. The European School Copenhagen follows the curriculum set by the European Schools and the secondary cycle is completed with the European Baccalaureate certificate. You can read more about Secondary here.
Our Secondary department opened in August 2018 and currently has a total of seven classes in S1, S2 and S3 in three different language sections, English, Danish and French/Danish. The classes are currently full, but we accept applications for ‘rolling admission’ in case spaces become available during the school year.
In 2020/21, we will open a new Secondary 1 class in the French language section. You will be able to apply for admission to this class from 26th November 2019 to 19th January 2020.
We will also be opening new S5 classes in the English and Danish language section. S5 corresponds to 1.g (the first year of Danish Gymnasium) and we will have an information evening about these classes, including the special admission criteria for upper secondary, on 13th January 2020. See more information under admission to upper secondary.
If you have any questions regarding our Secondary department, please write to Deputy Head of Department Mette Sophie Viuff Skærlund at JP00@kk.dk.
